Maryland Premiere

The BO Boys...and girl...
While I was home for 7.465 days, Mason invited me to come to the super-exclusive premiere of Blood Bound being shown in the home of his employer who, ya know, happens to make movies. Big budget movies. That are so not even as cool as Blood Bound.
For all my work on the movie in pre-production and regular production, being in Uganda/Congo pretty much eliminated any hand I would have had in post, so it was the first time that I'd seen the film, period. Of course I'd have said I liked it even if it sucked, so it was extra-exciting that I didn't have to lie.
Holy shit, it was amazing! I've probably read that script and viewed/booked those locations a billion zillion times but to see it all in flesh and blood (so to speak), being acted, all together and cohesive and watchable ?? Wow! And even enjoyable?? Is that even allowed?
What was really exciting too was just how proud I was of Mason. After the premiere, we listened to some of the random voice messages he'd left me from the evenings I didn't wake up at 4 am to talk to him, and we recalled the various memories of encouraging him through production as various shits hit multiple fans. So to see him succeed and actually pull it all off? Incredible.
Additionally, the guys he works with in MD, who are all pretty well-versed in movie production themselves, were impressed. My one friend (who works with Mason) and is hyper-critical of pretty much every movie he sees was incredibly complimentary and it made me beam. Mason did a bit of Q&A too and everyone was full of questions, excited and curious about all of it.
It rocked too to see it "on the big screen" ... the boss of the company has this ace house with a theatre screening room complete with wicked sound system. Oh yea, Johnny. Hearing your soundtrack on proper speakers? Woa! My butt tingled.
The general consensus too was that it looked like it cost a lot more to make than it actually did. And that it got an A as a B movie, and was far better than the "B" movie that the production house had just made for three million dollars.
So, congrats to everyone for (another) succesful premiere. Also, now that I'm back in Uganda, provided the power/internet situation holds steady, expect a whole bunch of web updates within the next few weeks.

That picture size is destroying the margins!
Not on my screen ;)
Your screen is unnaturally large.
*giggling*
Fine, I'll fix it JUST for you.
Also, did we decide about the site width or did you vanish into finals?
I vanished into finals. I'll get back to you with it soon.
Wow, you're also up unnaturally late.
And respond unnaturally fast.
Unnaturally unnaturally unnaturally.
